THE TREE SECTION
One of the most family friendly areas in Manhattan Beach, the Tree Section is home to properties with more yards and less traffic (standard lot is 4,400 soft.). A common misconception is that this area is named because of the abundance of trees, but it is really because the streets are names of trees(Maple Ave, Pine Ave.).
Ideal place to live for someone looking for a small town suburban beach feel but close enough to work in Downtown LA or Hollywood. The people are friendly, middle/upper class, who enjoy the finer things in life but have an eye for the simpler side of living as well.
More land for your buck here. You will find a few original bungalows built in the late 40’s to mid 50’s but with construction on every street recently, these are slowly fading. In the last 20 years, many of the original Manhattan Beach homes have been replaced with new, multi-story homes designed to maximize the livable square footage permitted on the lot.
To LAX: 15 min
To Downtown: 45 min - 1 hour
To Beach: 5 min drive, 10 min walk
To The Valley: 50 min without traffic, 1.5 hours with traffic
Sand Dune Park Getting its name from the 100-foot high sand dune located here. Sand Dune Park is an area of public sand dunes partly on a steep slope that is used for exercise in Manhattan Beach, California. The area has been used by amateur and professional athletes and has been featured in fitness magazines and newspaper accounts as a great workout spot. It is a favorite destination for kids of all ages. Steps and switchbacks lead up into the nature area as a trail that provides different ways to reach the top. The trail winds through plant life and provides an interesting and educational nature walk. The top of the dune provides a panoramic east-facing view of the City.
