GETTING AROUND THE SAND SECTION
Lay of the Land:
The Best of So-Cal Beach Life, With A Side of Luxury
The Sand Section in Hermosa Beach has some of the coolest real estate in Hermosa Beach. Here you will find original beach cottages right next to brand new stunning architecture. Every sunset here is beautiful and every home has a front row seat.
There are no cars allowed on the walk streets, and they are some of the most desirable properties in the Sand Section. Most have extra patio space perfect for entertaining and ocean and sand views out your front door.
The Strand here is mixed with bikers and runners, unlike Manhattan Beach's that is split in two paths - so make sure you look both ways before hitting the sand.
A MIX OF Families, Empty Nesters, and Beach Loving Renters
LA's coastline is an attractive one, so it's no wonder that here in Hermosa Beach it is a melting pot of people looking to live life with a beautiful view every day. The people here are always out and about, social people. While the price of properties are high there are still many that are rented out for the incredible location.
Many of the people that live here, work around the area or work from home, while some still endure the palatable 40 minute commute to Downtown LA or Hollywood.
There is a strong sense of community here, and when your homes are only a few feet apart, you have to get to know your neighbors a little bit better.
AINT' CHEAP BUT WORTH EVERY PENNY.
The homes here are postcard perfect and soaked in sea breezes all year long. Many have rooftop decks that are the prime spot for entertaining or relaxing while watching the sunset.
Prime real estate is between 16th Street and 33rd Street, west of Loma Dr. The most sought after properties are along the Strand, especially South facing corner lots.
Since parking is pretty scarce due to the beach goers, almost every home has a garage that is accessible by alleys.
Homes in this area are separated by a view feet to maximize square footage.
With new homes being built every week, we have a wide range of home styles that have collected here over the last decades. This adds to the charm of the Sand Section, you never know what you are going to get when you walk into a home.
Encompassing 5.33 acres, Valley Park is the largest and most widely used park in Hermosa Beach. The park is located off Valley Drive and Gould Avenue. The park features a play set ideal for kids of all ages with a Universally Accessible Swing for physically disabled children. Numerous picnic tables and barbecue grills are available for all to use on a first come first serve basis or available to reserve for Hermosa Beach residents. Also within the park is an amphitheater area, where a bounce house is permitted with a reservation, and annual special events such as Movie in the Park and Shakespeare by the Sea take place. Other highlights include a fire pit, basketball court and plenty of field space for all types of recreational activities. Restroom facilities are available and free, six hour parking is available on Gould Avenue.
Recently redone, South park is a great wide open park for kids of all ages. A new concrete slide, 4 person teeter totter, a merry go around, a ropes course, a water element for the sand, a digger, a tiny play structure with one rolling pin slide, and swings. There is a huge lawn for the kids to run around. There is also a community garden featured here.
