GETTING AROUND PALOS VERDES ESTATES
Lay of the Land:
OVERCAST MORNINGS AND BREATHTAKING BLUFFTOP SUNSETS
Most of Palos Verdes Estates (PVE) is situated along the cliffs of Palos Verdes. Here you will find gently winding roads with an abundance of open space that gives a serene feel.
Moving inland from the coast offers a different feel, as you move away from palm trees and into taller eucalyptus trees.
In this area single family homes are king, each with beautiful front yards and driveways and spacious backyards.
The Palos Verdes Golf Club is 213 acres laid out for an eighteen-hole golf course over gentle hills and overlooking the ocean.
A beautiful part of PVE, Malaga Cove dishes out some of the best views of the South Bay and some great quiet beaches. It also features a european style shopping center with an intricate water fountain in the middle.
Lunada Bay is something out of a movie. When you come here you feel like you have stepped into a european paradise and the people are friendly too. With tons of open space and cliffs offering stunning views. Here you will find charming homes, a superb elementary school and some great secret surf spots at the bottom of the cliffs.
A PLACE TO SETTLE DOWN AND WATCH THE SUNSETS
In PVE there are many families and retired home owners who take great pride in the beautiful place they live. During the day you will see many parents out for a walk or bike ride while their kids are at school. Along the bluffs you will see surfers and divers cars parked along the top while they explore the beautiful coastline below.
There are a number of wild peacocks who wonder around town.
In PVE there are numerous great hiking trails, some of the trails are pretty obvious, but the best hikes are hidden and known by the locals.
PRICES CAN BE HIGH BUT LOCATION AND LAND MAKES UP FOR IT
With green grass and wide open winding streets, the high cost of living in such a beautiful place makes the price worth it. Lot sizes are impressive in PVE and views always add to the price tag.
One of the staples in PVE homes are the Spanish styles that were originally built in the 1920-30's. They add to the charm of the neighborhood.
Moving inland from the water and along the edge of Redondo Beach, you have rolling hills covered in homes with tree lined streets. While you can still feel the ocean breezes, this area of Valmonte is a great first spot to buy in PVE.
