South Bay to Welcome Special Olympic Athletes.
Perhaps there is no greater joy than watching people achieving their dreams. Starting July 25, 2015, Los Angeles will be the new home for the 2015 Special Olympics World Games where thousands of athletes with intellectual disabilities will be traveling from around the world to do just that.
Before a single one of the 7,000 Special Olympics athletes competes at the 2015 World Games, for three days the champions from far and wide will get to indulge in the Southern California lifestyle. From July 21 to 25, 2015, Manhattan, Hermosa, and Redondo Beach will be home to hundres of athletes and their families from Belgium, Belize, Nepal, Hungary, Benin, Haiti and Suriname. The athletes will be getting to know community members, taking part in cultural activities unique to each area, as well as practicing and resting for the World Games. Since owners Blake & Diana are both Hungarian nationals, it will be an honor to have them experiencing and learning about our community here in the South Bay. HERE is a link to some ideas of fun things to do in our area during your stay.
