408 26th Street—When Price is no Object
LISTING PRICE $3,295,000
4 BED · 4 BATH · 2,650 SQF
Wonderful is the only way to describe this large (2,650 sq. ft) town home on the corner of 26th Street and Vista in Manhattan Beach. Hickory pecan wood floors are paired with light Shabby chic accents throughout the 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom house. The kitchen is spacious and open with top-of-the-line Viking appliances, and a convenient barstool counter for quick meals. Above the fireplace, in the living room, is an area for a large flat screen TV that is surrounded by windows flooding the room with natural sunlight and ocean views. On the second floor, the carpeted master suite has its own private balcony that’s a perfect a quite retreat. The beautifully tiled master bath is also impressive with a boxy glass shower, connected to a jacuzzi tub, complete with a television. It’s a Matt Morris built home, so we’d expect no less.
At its listing price of $3,295,000, this is a really big number for a home with hind-quarters abutting Vista Drive, and the North flank of Grandview elementary school. We’re not saying the seller won’t get their aspirational number, as big numbers have become the norm in the Sand. But, this does represent one of the highest price tags ever for a townhouse east of Highland, and especially one that comes with only two parking spaces.
On the water-cooler front, we’ve heard a story that the home found an off-market buyer earlier in the month at $3,400,000, but they pulled the plug on the deal when word came that coming new construction on Alma might limit or kill the home’s southerly views.
