Situated on the corner of 27th & Pacific Ave., is this Steve Lazar designed house in Manhattan Beach’s Tree Section that is the Zenniest Zen den we’ve ever zeen. Judging by the outside appearance we assumed the inside would have a very contemporary theme throughout the home but boy, were we wrong.
As you enter through the front door, that is semi-hidden by luscious palm trees, you start to notice the homes theme of bamboo colored wood and leafy green accents. Once inside the front entryway you are greeted by the barrel vaulted ceilings and can immediately sense the Zen theme flowing through every room. Continuing into the long kitchen, that features all of the obvious luxurious, standard stainless steel appliances, but when we looked up, we noticed the ceiling was barrel vaulted in the kitchen as well, and had plants hang above the entire kitchen, which we thought was a nice touch. Continuing passed the kitchen you have an outdoor area on your left, complete with a tranquil waterfall and some bamboo. On your right is the comfy family room with a big couch, TV and bamboo wallpaper, too keep with the theme. Heading up the carpeted stairs to the second floor, there is more bamboo, stones covering one of the walls, and tons of natural light as you make your way up.
At the top of the stars, to the left, is the spacious master suite with the same barrel vaulted ceilings as the we saw downstairs. This master features a large walk-in closet and a bathroom with some great charm. We loved how the bathtub was surrounded in wood, that matched the rest of the house. The second bedroom was sizable and has its own private bath. The other two bedrooms connected by a shared bath and also have a balcony. We loved how they turned one of those bedrooms into a library, with books floor-to-ceiling and natural light falling from the skylights above. The backyard was nice but nothing too extravagant. It was surrounded by tall green bamboo and had tons of area for a dog or children to play.
Overall, we think this celebrity home (oh… did we forget to mention that?) is picture perfect for a small family looking in MB, or someone who loves bamboo and feeling Zen. It has tons of space for kids to play, a two-car garage for the parents, and design that anyone can easily fall in love with. One of the main things we found appealing about this house is how reasonably priced it was. This is a deal that will last long.
