If you haven’t already noticed, plantation-style homes seem to be taking over our area at the moment. On almost every street, in Manhattan and Hermosa Beach, it feels as if there is at least one new construction site popping up every week with this trendy style. Some are simply average remodels but we visited one that was an absolute work of art. Check out the before and after pictures above and you can see for yourself how in 2012 the home wasn’t really much to look at, and now it has turned into this breathtaking work of art (aka: home). 

The new 5 bedroom, 5 bathroom home at 1131 6th St. in Manhattan Beach, was not what we expected from the curb. We were expecting something a lot smaller on the inside. Walking into the home you see the huge great room with 2 story ceilings, a huge fire place, that give you a sense of just how big this home is. We loved the use of the light wood floors, white walls, and the contrasting dark gray ceilings. On top of the normal kitchen stuff like brand new appliances, and all that, our favorite feature was definitely the island. The islands amazing detail and its dark gray color made it stand out from all of the white used in the kitchen. Attached to the kitchen is the family room, as well as the breakfast nook. Glass doors take you out into the decently-sized backyard. The backyard was well thought out, with one third of the space featuring a modern fire pit area, the middle third with grass and a tranquil waterfall behind it, and then last third had a space for lounge chairs. The only thing missing from this backyard, in our opinion, is a built-in bbq. 

Going back into the house - upstairs you have 3 bedrooms, a playroom, and the master suite. We loved how when you’re walking around the upstairs you have an open view down into the great room. This really opened up the home and made it feel twice as large and luxurious. The master suite was dreamy with a private balcony, a fireplace, and a small reading area. The master also had a Kardashian-sized walk-in closet and a bathroom equally as Kardashian, with a mix of white and gray tile and marble with a fireplace right above the spa tub. 

The home also featured a 3 car garage, which is an added bonus. With that and being on a really great street close to the Hill Section, we think that the home is very reasonably priced at $3,599,900.
